Why do I need a temporary modem and email for HSI Ultimate?
Since High Speed Ultimate uses an updated interface (DOCSIS 3.0), a new type of modem is required to deliver the service but, if you also have our Home Phone service, it will need to separate from your phone modem. This second modem is only temporary until a new integrated modem is released that will replace both the temporary modem and your original equipment. During this temporary period, you will also be given a separate email address where you will be sent your usual usage and security messages. This temporary address will be removed after the integration so it is not recommended to use it for personal contacts.
