Are there any safety precautions I should take while surfing?
When connected to the Internet, it is advisable to take the following precautions to further protect your equipment, software and files:
- Turn off file/printing sharing.
- If you have a home network, use a firewall for security.
- Make sure you have the latest virus definitions for your anti-virus software.
- Do not accept any files (either files downloaded from the Internet or email attachments) without virus scanning them first, even if they come from a trusted source. (Senders may not be aware of an embedded virus, or someone else could be using their address).
