What will happen to my recorded shows when my Digital Video Recorder (DVR) hard disc is full?

Once the hard drive is full, the oldest recording set to "Save Until Space Is Needed" will be deleted automatically.

  • If all recordings are set to "Save Until I Delete", the new scheduled recording will be cancelled. Because of this, it is best to periodically check your hard drive and upcoming recordings to manage your space.
  • When the hard disk is completed to 80%, you will receive a warning message. Your DVR will then proceed with the prearranged settings for your individual recordings.
  • When setting each recording (and series recording), there is a field called "Save Until", where you can choose "Space Is Needed" or "I Delete". We strongly recommend choosing «I deleted" to avoid missing your favorite shows when the hard disk is full.

Approximate recording capacity:

Standard Definition – Recording capacity is up to 360 hours (depending on the DVR model).

High-definition (HDTV) – Recording capacity is up to 90 hours (depending on the DVR model).

Note: We also offer TiVo - Whole Home DVR which allows you to record up to 150 hours in HD and 1050 hours in standard. With this model, you can now record six shows at the same time while watching a previously recorded show, or five shows while watching a live show.
