What is the difference between High-Definition Television service and Cogeco’s current digital TV services?

• A high-definition television (HD TV) is a type of digital television (DTV) that receives and/or displays high-definition (HD) images.
• HD typically offers Dolby® Digital 5.1 channel surround sound rather than the stereo sound that comes with standard digital service.
• The combination of an HD TV set, HD receiver and HD programming provides an image that is five times sharper than the image displayed on a standard TV due to the greater number of pixels contained in the received signal and the higher resolution capability of the HD TV set.
• HD TV screens are wider than traditional analog TV screens.
• Analog TVs offer a screen aspect ratio of 4:3 while HD TVs offer an aspect ratio of 16:9, which is similar to the aspect ratio of a movie screen.
• HD TV allows you to watch movies as they were shown in theatres, without reformatting.
