How will I know when I run out of space on my Digital Video Recorder (DVR)?

Low Memory Warning

The Interactive Guide will advise you with an on-screen notice when the available DVR memory is almost full. The first warning message will appear when your device memory is 80% full.

The notice will read “You only have 20% of your total recording space.”

If your device memory becomes full during a recording, the recording will stop.

Make sure you have enough memory to record an entire selected program before you begin, to avoid missing part of the program.

In the "Recordings" section of the menu, it is possible to assign an order of priority to recordings to ensure that they are still made in the event of scheduling conflicts or lack of space. The highest priority will prevail, whether recording a show from a series or a one-time broadcast.

Approximate recording capacity:

•Analog TV shows (not digital) – Typically, analog cable channels 2 through 47. This may vary depending on your cable system. Recording capacity is up to 50 hours.

•Digital TV shows– Typically, digital cable channels are channels 100 and above, but this varies depending on your cable system. Recording capacity is between 100 and 350 hours.

•High-definition TV shows (HDTV) – Shows that are broadcast in HD may be recorded in the same format, provided your HD-DVR is connected to a high-definition television. Recording capacity is between 20 and 100 hours (depending upon the type of show and the resolution).
