Will my telephone service work if there is no power?

In the event of a power outage, your telephone service will not work unless there is a battery back-up with the Phone Equipment. 

New generation Phone Equipment does not include an external backup battery. Sold separately with any subscription to an UltraFibre 60 and higher Internet package.

The battery allows your telephone service to function during a power outage, including calls to 911 and connected home alarm systems. A fully charged battery can last between 4 to 8 hours depending on usage. Cordless phones will not function during a power outage.

It is the customer's responsibility to replace the battery when necessary.
