How do I manage parental controls on my TV service?

With parental control features, you can limit or block access to certain channels or types of programming. The control features can also prevent your kids from purchasing movies or services. These locks can be configured quickly and at any time while watching TV or using the guide.

How to create parental codes:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control twice.
  2. Select Parental Controls.
  3. Create a 4-digit Parental PIN.
  4. If you also want to add a Purchase PIN, select PINs Setup, then create your 4-digit PIN.

Good to know:

  • Your Parental PIN and your Purchase PIN can be identical.
  • Parental control codes and settings also apply to Video On Demand and Pay-Per-View content, as well as all other i-Guide features.
  • Once you’ve set up your PIN, you can return to Parental Controls Setup to configure your program locks.

Locking a channel

Here’s how to lock a channel:

  • Press the Menu button on your remote control once to open the Quick Menu.
  • Select the Lock icon.

Good to know: If you want to lock a certain channel on all your receivers, you have to repeat these steps on each of your devices.
