TiVo Error Codes starting with M
Error Code Issue Steps to troubleshoot issue
M50, M61, M115, M116, M124 The TiVo box no longer has accurate info about your channels. Please repeat Guided Setup immediately so that your shows will record correctly.

To repeat Guided Setup:

  • From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Help > Restart Box.
  • Press Thumbs Down three times, then press Enter.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions until Guided Setup is complete.

If the problem persists, please contact Cogeco Technical Support.

M58, M59, M60, M63, M68, M340 The TiVo box has no information about upcoming TV shows & movies. Please connect to the TiVo service now. Until the TiVo box connects successfully, shows will not record.
  1. Verify that your coax connections are secure.
  2. Can you connect to the Internet with another device? Yes: Continue to the Step 3. No: There may be a problem with your Internet service.
  3. Force a connection to the TiVo service by going to:
    TiVo Central > Messages & Settings > Network Settings> TiVo Service Connection.

M69, M70, M303 There is a problem with your network settings.

There is a problem with your network configuration as your box is trying to connect to the Internet using a phone connection.

Restart your TiVo box by going to:
TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Help > Restart Box.

If you cannot restart the box from the TiVo menus, you will need to powercycle the box:

  1. Remove the power cord from the back of the box.
  2. Wait at least 15 seconds and then reinsert the power cord.

M85 Another device on your home network is using the same IP Address as this TiVo box. Until you change your network settings, this TiVo box will not work with any Apps or other TiVo boxes.
  1. Force a connection to the TiVo service by going to:
    TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Network Settings > TiVo Service Connection.
  2. Restart your TiVo box by going to:
    TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Help > Restart Box.
  3. If you cannot restart the box from the TiVo menus, you will need to powercycle the box:
    a. Remove the power cord from the back of the box.
    b. Wait at least 15 seconds and then reinsert the power cord.

M88, M131, M132, M134, M306, M341 There is an issue with one of your TiVo devices. One of your devices may not be supported by TiVo Service from Cogeco.

M125 This TiVo box has detected an expander. You should set it up now so that the TiVo box can use the additional recording space.

M126, M305 Your request could not be processed. Please try again.
  1. Verify that your coax connections are secure.

Oh, and keep an eye out for the envelope icon when you go to the TiVo Central menu. This means you've got a new message about your TiVo box. This message is informative only welcoming you to the TiVo family!

M343 Here are some handy hints to help you move around the menus on your TiVo box.

First of all, you don't have to scroll through menu pages line by line. You can use the CHANNEL UP and CHANNEL DOWN buttons on your remote control to move the page up and down. You can also jump straight to the bottom of a list and back to the top again by using the ADVANCE button.

You can delete programs or folders from My Shows just by highlighting them and pressing the CLEAR button on your remote control.

Around the SELECT button on your remote control, you'll find the arrow buttons. The RIGHT button takes you to the next menu option, and the LEFT button takes you back to where you came from.
